Eskişehir Technical University was established following its separation from Anadolu University, in accordance with the Additional Article 193 of the Higher Education Law and Amendments to Certain Laws and Decrees, published in the Official Gazette dated 18.05.2018, No. 30425. Although it appears as a newly founded university by its establishment date, it carries a strong institutional culture with a history of more than 50 years, student-centered, integrated, and participatory management approach, and is committed to carrying this legacy into the future. Guided by its vision of becoming “a university that leads change and transformation by creating value,” the University presented its determination to embrace the core principles of collective success, inclusiveness, merit, objectivity, stakeholder orientation, sharing, sustainability, and continuous improvement in its very first strategic plan.
With 5 Faculties, 3 Institutes, 2 Vocational Schools, and 4 Research and Application Centers, our University has shown significant progress since its establishment. With over 14,000 students, 1,300 staff members, strong infrastructure, and a highly qualified academic team, ESTU has advanced in education, research, and community service activities, while also prioritizing collaboration and internationalization.
The 2021–2025 Strategic Plan is of utmost importance as it identifies the priority objectives and focus areas for our institution, and provides guidance for coordinated and effective action with all stakeholders. As the University’s first official strategic plan, it plays a critical role in shaping the future of ESTU. Conducted with the participation of a wide range of stakeholders—including academic and administrative staff, students, alumni, and external partners—our strategic planning process has been carried out transparently and democratically. This approach provided an opportunity to thoroughly examine the University’s past and current situation, national and global trends, opportunities and threats, as well as to gain a better understanding of stakeholder expectations.
The documents and activities used during the preparation stages of the plan are listed below. The final report, “Eskişehir Technical University 2021–2025 Strategic Plan,” can be accessed here.
